Background of the Study
Supply chain risk management (SCRM) involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that can disrupt the flow of goods and services within an organization’s supply chain. For financial institutions such as the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), effective SCRM is essential for maintaining the integrity and stability of financial markets. In Borno State, where the NSE operates in challenging socio-economic conditions, including political instability and infrastructural constraints, risk management becomes even more critical (Bala & Ahmed, 2023).
The NSE plays a vital role in facilitating the trading of securities and other financial instruments, and disruptions in its supply chain could lead to market volatility, loss of investor confidence, and operational inefficiencies. Therefore, adopting a comprehensive approach to managing supply chain risks is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of the stock exchange. This study aims to appraise the risk management practices of the NSE in Borno State and assess their effectiveness in mitigating supply chain disruptions.
Statement of the Problem
The Nigerian Stock Exchange faces significant supply chain risks in Borno State due to factors such as security concerns, political instability, and logistical challenges. These risks can disrupt the flow of financial services, affect trading operations, and harm the reputation of the NSE.
